Lakeside Academy is a K-12 school serving students from the communities of Buchans, Buchans Junction, and Millertown. The total numbers of students enrolled is approximately 66. Millertown and Buchans Junction students are bussed to Buchans (where the school is located) via Route 370 and the Millertown Highway.

Presently, Lakeside Academy has a total of 12 teaching staff along with 3 student assistants, 1 secretary, 1 bus driver/maintenance and 1 janitor. Lakeside Academy still avails of itinerant services of a Guidance Counsellor (approximately 1-2 days per week).  The school also receives support from assessors, Educational Psychologists and Program Specialists as needed.
